Dutch con­sumer elec­tron­ics vol­umes de­cline

Euromon­i­tor says after the pos­i­tive growth recorded in 2014, 2015 marked the re­turn of the Dutch con­sumer elec­tron­ics in­dus­try into an­other de­cline in over­all vol­ume terms. Most cat­e­gories are in­cluded within this de­cline as man­u­fac­tur­ers strug­gle to keep con­sumers in­ter­ested in their prod­ucts in a fast-evolv­ing mar­ket. Only sig­nif­i­cant de­vel­op­ment was the ar­rival of wear­able elec­tron­ics. The slow re­cov­ery of the Dutch econ­omy has also added to the strug­gles of the con­sumer elec­tron­ics mar­ket. A num­ber of small man­u­fac­tur­ers gained vol­ume share dur­ing 2015, es­pe­cially in pas­sive wear­able elec­tron­ics. In­ter­net re­tail­ing con­tin­ued record­ing rapid growth in the re­tail dis­tri­bu­tion of con­sumer elec­tron­ics in 2015 despite falling vol­ume sales over­all.
