Sales of imaging devices in Spain plung 12%
According to Euromonitor, sales of imaging devices in Spain plunged 12% in retail volume terms in 2015. However, SLR and action cameras are experiencing a growing trend among Spaniards, who are increasingly engaging in sport and travel, all of which stimulate the desire to have imaging devices to record their experience. Canon led with a 26% volume share in 2015, thanks to current preference among Spanish consumers for SLR cameras. Sales of imaging devices are expected to drop further by a CAGR of 11% because smartphones cameras are improving in all aspects. However, unlike digital cameras, digital camcorders are set to record a positive CAGR, rising by 2% by 2020.
