KAMAL IS ‘SAD’ FOR NOT GETTING TO WATCH KABALI

-

The actor, who was injured recently, is currently on a month-long break and is recovering well

Kamal Haasan, who suffered a nasty injury last week, has been unable to watch his friend Rajinikanth’s blockbuster movie, Kabali yet. “It’s sad,” says Kamal, adding, “But the timing of the accident doesn’t allow me to watch the film. I will do so as soon as I can,” he promises. Kamal suffered multiple fractures in his leg and is recovering well, even though he’s bedridden for a bit. “Yes I’m recovering,” says Kamal, talking about his predicament. “It’s a quick recovery according to doctors. But it’s a tad more painful than my previous hospital sojourns. I’m off the radar for a month and for once, not thinking about work at all.”

Thanks to his fractures, his month off has ended up becoming his first holiday in years. “I needed a break, I guess. And I got a break in more ways than one; three breaks actually,” he laughs. So how did he manage to get injured? “It happened so suddenly and the reason of the fall was so silly, I can’t even talk about it,” says Kamal, about the accident. “I fool around in my office at Eldams Road (Chennai) all the time. This was an occasion where it backfired. I’ve had several accidents and some really nasty falls, but they’ve all come during the course of my work. But this time it was for a pointless, avoidable reason.”

The actor is supposed to star in a tri-lingual comedy along with his daughter Shruti Haasan.

So what happens to the movie now that he’s injured? “Nothing,” he says emphatically. “I’m the director and the male lead of Sabaash Naidu. Until I recover, the film remains suspended. There is no hurry; we can take our time. We only might have a problem with Shruti’s dates, as she’s a busy artiste.”
