FAMILIES DONATE ORGANS OF 2 BRAIN-DEAD PERSONS

DC CORRESPOND­ENT HYDERABAD, JUNE 17 Nine organs from two brain-dead persons were donated by their families to the Jeevandan scheme

Eight organs were harvested from 19-yearold K. Pavan of Champapet. Pavan was riding a motorcycle to the Sanghi temple when a car hit his vehicle from behind. Pavan suffered a head injury and was rushed to Aware Global Hospitals at LB Nagar. He was declared brain dead after a day. His parents K. Prakash and mother Vanaja consented to donate his organs.

The liver was harvested from Sudarshan Goud, 57, after he was declared brain dead following a vehicle accident on June 11. He was hit by a car when he was returning from a medical shop. His son Shashider approached Jeevandan to donate the organ.
