It’s glucose, not insulin
Hyderabad: With reference to the article ‘Pre-Diabetes on the rise in undivided AP’, published in these columns on Tuesday, the quote attributed to Dr M. Anjana, first author of a research paper published in the Lancet should read: “People who have high glucose levels before fasting are more susceptible to getting diabetes than those who do so after fasting. But if glucose remains high in both stages, the progression to diabetes will be much faster,” and not as published. The error is regretted.
