Six ar­rested for gutka trad­ing

Hy­der­abad: The ra­jen­drana­gar po­lice ar­rested six per­sons in­volved in four gutka cases and seized the con­tra­band from their pos­ses­sion on Satur­day. The ar­rested were iden­ti­fied as San­jeev Ku­mar Mishra, 29, Mohd Faizal, 25, Neema Ram, 30, Shiva, 30, Ga­jen­der Reddy, 30 and Abdul Khaleel, 32. “The ar­rests were made based on a re­li­able in­for­ma­tion from cred­i­ble sources dur­ing the past week. “San­jeev Mishra was ar­rested while sell­ing gutka on the bike, he then took the po­lice to Faizal, the gutka sup­plier. Neema Ram and Shiva were ar­rested for stor­ing gutka and sell­ing them from a pan shop. Ga­jen­der Reddy was caught sell­ing the banned prod­uct at his ki­rana shop,” said Shamshabad Zone DCP, P.V. Pad­maja. On the whole, of­fi­cials seized around 1,140 pouches of gutka pack­ets from them. The ar­rested were booked un­der rel­e­vant sec­tions of the IPC and were sent to ju­di­cial re­mand on Satur­day.
