FAKE PHARMA FIRM BUSTED, `5 CRORE GOODS SEIZED

The spe­cial op­er­a­tions team of Rachakonda on Thursday busted a fake pharma man­u­fac­tur­ing unit in Chai­tanya­puri and seized huge quan­ti­ties of drugs.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, the owner of the unit, Ra­makr­ishna, had the li­cence to dis­trib­ute drugs man­u­fac­tured by other companies. How­ever, he re­cently started a man­u­fac­tur­ing unit. Most of the prod­ucts he man­u­fac­tured were meant for preg­nant women and chil­dren.

The po­lice seized huge quan­ti­ties of tablets, ton­ics, milk pow­der, pro­tein sup­ple­ments and other prod­ucts used by preg­nant women and chil­dren.

Mr P. Venkatesh­warlu, in­spec­tor of the spe­cial op­er­a­tions team, said that goods worth over `5 crore have been seized. The drug con­trol ad­min­is­tra­tion has been in­formed. Hunt is on to nab the part­ner, Ra­jen­der Reddy.
