WIND POWER RATE FALLS TO `2.64 PER UNIT

The tar­iff for wind power touched the low­est level of `2.64 per unit on Wednesday. This was the price dis­cov­ered at an auc­tion con­ducted by the The So­lar En­ergy Cor­po­ra­tion of India (SECI) on be­half of the Union min­istry of new & re­new­able en­ergy (MNRE).

The pre­vi­ous low was `3.46 per unit dur­ing an auc­tion held in Fe­bru­ary.

MNRE said the five win­ners for 1,000 MW in­cluded Re­New Power (Haryana) for 250 MW and Or­ange Sironji (Kar­nataka) 200 MW (both quot­ing `2.64 per unit), Inox Wind (Gu­jarat) for 250 MW projects, Green In­fra (Delhi) for 250 MW and Adani Green for 50 MW (all `2.65 per unit).
