SRIHARI: ACTION ON COLLEGES AT THE RIGHT TIME

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, who holds the education portfolio, said that despite the many efforts of the government in curbing irregularities, no single corporate colleges was running with a clean record with regard to fees or maintaining timings.

He said that more than 50,000 students were studying in Sri Chaitanya and Narayana colleges in the state. They and many other private institutions were indulging in corrupt practices. He said the government had warned the institutions a number of times and even started issuing notices threatening to take stern action.

Speaking to mediapersons in the Assembly lobbies, Mr Srihari said, “If we take any criminal action in the middle of the academic year it will cause problems to students. We will take action at an appropriate time.”
