Vi­o­la­tion al­leged in DOST-2018 quota

The Te­lan­gana Recog­nised De­gree and PG Col­lege Man­age­ments al­leged vi­o­la­tion of norms per­tain­ing to reser­va­tions in the al­lot­ment of seats for de­gree col­leges in the first phase of DOST.

Mr B. Laxma Reddy, chief ad­viser to the body, said ev­i­dence had been col­lected to show that soft­ware had been ma­nip­u­lated to pre­fer gov­ern­ment col­leges. He said slid­ing op­tion was not be­ing im­ple­mented. Deny­ing the al­le­ga­tions, DOST con­vener Prof. R. Lim­badri said, “We have con­ducted the process as per the pro­ce­dure.” He said 81,333 stu­dents had con­firmed ad­mis­sions and 15,107 stu­dents had opted for slid­ing.
