The flu vac­cine is only for preven­tion but it does not mean there is 100% pro­tec­tion. If flu strikes, the ef­fect will not be very de­bil­i­tat­ing on body.

Those who are im­mu­nity com­pro­mised, that is they have un­con­trolled di­a­betes, are ad­vised to take the vac­cine.

Vac­cine must be taken be­fore the win­ter sea­son be­gins as it takes three weeks for the im­mu­nity to build.

Avoid crowded places and en­sure hand hy­giene. In case of fevers, opt for self-iso­la­tion as it will pro­tect near and dear ones. Take rest, drink suf­fi­cient wa­ter and eat a bal­anced diet.
