MAN HELD FOR DEFAMING WOMAN

Cybercrime officials from Rachakonda commissionerate arrested a 27-year-old stalker who sent abusive messages to a woman after his colleague asked him to do so.

According to the cybercrime police, a woman named Uma Maheshwari took the help of Narayana Rao, by stating that she fell in love with a person named Mahesh.

She bore a grudge against him as he was not returning her calls and requested Rao to help defame his relative.

D. Jalandhar Reddy, cybercrime inspector of police, said, “Uma provided Mahesh’s relative’s numbers and photos. Rao in turn posted the woman’s phone numbers and photos in WhatsApp groups mentioning she was a call girl. He downloaded nude photos from porn sites and forwarded them to defame the woman.”

“A relative of Mahesh lodged a sexual harassment case, as the accused sent abusive messages on WhatsApp. Police registered a case under Section 354 (D) of IPC and 67 & 67 (A) of IT Act.
