INTERACTIVE EDU IN ALL VARSITIES FROM NOW

- DC CORRESPONDENT

An interactive education practice will be implemented in all Central and deemed universities and technical colleges in the country, stated All India Council for Technical Education chairman Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, while addressing a gathering of vice-chancellors at the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) on Sunday.

Dr Sahasrabudhe said, “We are going to have faculty training programme on a continuous basis as students now have various sources of getting information. Hence, the practice of a study plan, in IITs, will be implemented across all universities and colleges. It will be an interactive approach where the participation of the students is important.”

Various colleges from across the nation raised a lot of queries as the biggest challenge for them is managing the faculty ratio vis-a-vis students.

Many colleges do not have permanent faculty and manage with contract lecturers, which has reduced quality of the education.

Recruitment of faculty is a major concern and until that is done, the quality of education is going to be a challenge.

New methods were also introspected, but during the gathering it was also pointed out that the quality of students too will have to be checked at various levels for being industry efficient.
