Fund crunch hits road repair work, says Bhujbal
PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal admitted that there was a scarcity of funds to carry out road repairs in the state. He said the finance department has given only 30% of the funds demanded. “We need Rs1,943 crore to repair state roads, while district roads need Rs1,366 crore. But, we have a budgetary allocation of Rs429 crore for state roads and Rs291 crore for district roads — nearly 21% of the requirement,” he said in the assembly.
