Maximum City: Bombay Lost And Found (BOOK)
book is Suketu Mehta’s autobiographical take on the city of Mumbai. Written through many interlinking accounts, the author succeeds in bringing out the horrors and wonders of living in the city. Mehta, who was born and brought up in Mumbai and later migrated to the US , returned only to find it changed and affected by political and social events like the 1992 riots, the burgeoning slums and the Bombay Rent Act and its implications. The author has taken care not to leave out the Mumbai Police, the underworld and Bollywood from the narrative.
