Res­i­dents root for plas­tic-free Cuffe Pa­rade, pa­per & cloth bags

and lo­cal cor­po­ra­tor, on Mon­day launched the pro­gram. The CPRA mem­bers will visit var­i­ous build­ings in the Cuffe Pa­rade area to sen­si­tise the lo­cals about their pro­gram.

“We have spoken to the re­tail­ers to ban the use of plas­tic com­pletely. We have also handed over to them pa­per and cloth bags which will be given to cus­tomers with a nom­i­nal de­posit fee. The money will be re­funded when the cus­tomer re­turns the bag,” said Hansu Pardi­wala, mem­ber of CPRA.

Vi­jay Bhim­ra­jka, Pres­i­dent of CPRA, said, “We are aim­ing for a plas­tic-free so­ci­ety, and we are get­ting a good re­sponse from the lo­cal res­i­dents.”
