What a waste!

DNA (Daily News & Analysis) Mumbai Edition - - FRONT PAGE -

While the BMC may have set a deadline for bulk generators of wet waste to get their act together in order to reduce the burden of waste going to the city’s dumping grounds, the nation’s financial capital itself is full of mini dump yards.

In different areas all over south Mumbai, waste lies unattended in the middle of roads, while other locations are dotted by overflowing bins leading to garbage spillage and a foul stench. Several areas still lack proper facilities for garbage disposal. Irresponsibly disposed waste in some areas is also seen blocking access to parked vehicles.
