Bank recovers money that was siphoned off
The State Bank of Mauritius officials have claimed that it has recovered around 90 per cent of the total amount of Rs 143 crore which was siphoned off in a major cyberattack that took place ten days back.
A spokesperson of the SBM said, “Based on prompt measures, we have recovered most of the amount. This loss will get reduced after claiming insurance and to prevent further damages, necessary measures have been initiated. We would like to assure that no customer account has been impacted and no relevant and crucial data of the bank account holders have been compromised.”
