Father thanks Haryana govt for CBI probe
Barun Thakur, father of the sevenyear-old child who was murdered inside the toilet of Gurugram’s Ryan International School, expressed his gratitude to the Haryana government on Friday for transferring the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He, however, added that the fight was not yet over.
Meanwhile, the lawyer of accused conductor Ashok Kumar said that he was tortured by the police and forced to confess to the crime.
Talking to DNA, Thakur said, “Now, our aim is to get a permanent solution for safety of children in schools,” He further said it was a fight with the system to ensure stringent rules regarding the matter. “There should be a designated body to monitor safety of children at schools. The school has been shut ever since the incident,” Thakur added.
The accused’s lawyer Mohit Verma said that the conductor was being framed. A police team that was in Mumbai for investigation will be returning soon.
