Ter­ror­ists hurl grenade at Kash­mir beauty par­lour, three girls in­jured

Days af­ter Is­lami Markazi Ma­jlis-e-Shoura is­sued a dik­tat against the women in Kisht­war district of Jammu, sus­pected mil­i­tants at­tacked a beauty par­lour with grenade in­jur­ing three girls in Ra­j­pora Chowk of South Kash­mir’s Pul­wama district on Thurs­day.

Po­lice said the in­ci­dent oc­curred in the evening when uniden­ti­fied ul­tras lobbed a pow­er­ful grenade at the beauty par­lour, which how­ever missed the tar­get and ex­ploded out­side the premises. Three girls were in­jured in the in­ci­dent. Po­lice said the two of the girls had gone for ap­ply­ing Heena when they re­ceived splin­ter in­juries.

“The girls suf­fered mi­nor splin­ter in­juries and were dis­charged af­ter first aid. They had vis­ited the par­lour to ap­ply Mehndi on their hands when the ex­plo­sion oc­curred. Ap­par­ently the beauty par­lour was the tar­get,” said Mo­ham­mad As­lam, se­nior su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice, Pul­wama.

Se­cu­rity forces im­me­di­ately cor­doned off the area to hunt down the ul­tras re­spon­si­ble for the in­ci­dent. Re­in­force­ments were also rushed in to aug­ment the forces on ground in a bid to keep stone pel­ters at bay. Po­lice also col­lected the splin­ters for foren­sic ex­am­i­na­tion to un­ravel the truth.
