Bi­har Cong fac­tions squab­bling in pub­lic

The rumble within the Bi­har Con­gress is grow­ing by the day with ri­val fac­tions trad­ing al­le­ga­tions and wash­ing their dirty linen in pub­lic.

A day af­ter ousted Bi­har Pradesh Con­gress Com­mit­tee (BPCC) pres­i­dent Ashok Choud­hary blamed se­nior Con­gress leader and Bi­har in-charge CP Joshi for the cur­rent cri­sis in the party, se­nior party func­tionary Prem­c­hand Mishra al­leged ir­reg­u­lar­i­ties in the mem­ber­ship drive dur­ing Choud­hary’s ten­ure.

“In the or­gan­i­sa­tional polls held dur­ing Choud­hary’s pres­i­den­tial term, it has been shown that 16 lakh new peo­ple have joined the party, for which a to­tal of Rs 80 lakh (@Rs 5 per mem­ber) was de­posited. How­ever, on scru­tiny of doc­u­ments, join­ing pa­pers for only 4.70 lakh mem­bers could be found. Where are the pa­pers for the rest 11.30 lakh mem­bers as claimed?” Mishra asked.
