On Thursday the RSS clarified its stand on the Jay Shah controversy, with senior functionary Dattatreya Hosabale saying that the case against BJP chief Amit Shah’s son could be probed if there was prima facie evidence. His statement came as fresh ammunition for Opposition cannons to corner the BJP.
Hosabale was responding to queries on day one of the significant, though routine, Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM) meeting underway in Bhopal.
“Necessary inquiry should be done and action can be taken accordingly,” the RSS functionary told reporters, replying to questions regarding allegations of of huge spike in the turnover of a company owned by Jay Shah.
“Those making the allegations should prove them first,” the joint general secretary of the Sangh said.
Meanwhile, the ABKM has made a few departures from its past tradition. While the mandate of the ABKM meet is to review the achievements and the activities of the Sangh and look into ways of expanding the footprint of the organisation further, the ABKM would also be discussing the broad contours of its policy for the next three years.
“In the ABKM, not just the expansion and further strengthening of the on,going works will be discussed, but also brainstorming on various activities of the Sangh will be done,” All India Publicity head of RSS, Manmohan Vaidya said.
Necessary inquiry should be done and action can be taken accordingly.
