The Su­nanda Pushkar case

The then wife of for­mer Union Min­is­ter Shashi Tharoor, Su­nanda Pushkar was found dead at a five-star-ho­tel in Chanakya­puri area on Jan­uary 17, 2014. De­spite the case be­ing trans­ferred to the Crime Branch of Delhi Po­lice and a Spe­cial In­ves­ti­gat­ing team (SIT) be­ing formed, the case has not reached any log­i­cal con­clu­sion. The Delhi Po­lice last week in­formed the Delhi High Court that it in­tends to start a new mode of in­ves­ti­ga­tion known as foren­sic psy­chol­ogy in the Su­nanda Pushkar mur­der case.

Shob­hit Modi case

Shob­hit Modi, a 20-yearold IT stu­dent, son of the gen­eral man­ager of a pub­lic sec­tor com­pany, was fa­tally stabbed by un­known as­sailants just a few hun­dred me­tres from his home in south Delhi’s Vas­ant Kunj in 2011. The po­lice sus­pected it to be a vendetta killing. The vic­tim was found stum­bling to­wards gate num­ber three of C-5 Vas­ant Kunj by the guard around 9:50 pm. When Shob­hit slumped on the car bar­rier and did not move, the guard found at least four stab in­juries on his chest, ab­domen and shoul­ders.
