Govt opens 100 spcl libraries for Sarvodaya schools
The Delhi government on Thursday inaugurated 100 special libraries designed for the primary sections of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. Earlier, these schools had one common library for children of all classes. “Libraries have a huge role in developing young minds. We are keen to inculcate a library culture among children, which will go a long way in ensuring that children broaden their horizons beyond their syllabus,” Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said at the inauguration of one such library in south Delhi’s Moti Bagh.
350 community workers felicitated
Over 350 people working for community management and cleanliness were felicitated on Thursday for their efforts towards improving sanitation facilities in 13 settlements across Delhi, which are likely to be declared
‘Adarsh Bastis’. Senior officials of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), municipal corporations and civil society leaders felicitated 381 representatives for their work.
