Govt opens 100 spcl li­braries for Sarvodaya schools

The Delhi govern­ment on Thurs­day in­au­gu­rated 100 spe­cial li­braries de­signed for the pri­mary sec­tions of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. Ear­lier, th­ese schools had one com­mon li­brary for chil­dren of all classes. “Li­braries have a huge role in de­vel­op­ing young minds. We are keen to in­cul­cate a li­brary cul­ture among chil­dren, which will go a long way in en­sur­ing that chil­dren broaden their hori­zons beyond their syl­labus,” Deputy CM Man­ish Siso­dia said at the in­au­gu­ra­tion of one such li­brary in south Delhi’s Moti Bagh.

350 com­mu­nity work­ers fe­lic­i­tated

Over 350 peo­ple work­ing for com­mu­nity man­age­ment and clean­li­ness were fe­lic­i­tated on Thurs­day for their ef­forts to­wards im­prov­ing san­i­ta­tion fa­cil­i­ties in 13 set­tle­ments across Delhi, which are likely to be de­clared

‘Adarsh Bastis’. Se­nior of­fi­cials of the Delhi Ur­ban Shel­ter Im­prove­ment Board (DUSIB), mu­nic­i­pal cor­po­ra­tions and civil so­ci­ety lead­ers fe­lic­i­tated 381 rep­re­sen­ta­tives for their work.
