AAP revokes Okhla MLA’s suspension, Vishwas irked
Five months after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suspended its Okhla MLA, Amanatullah Khan, for calling senior party leader Kumar Vishwas a BJP agent, the party has revoked the decision, leaving Vishwas incensed.
According to Khan, he was informed about the decision by party leader Ashutosh on Sunday. “I received a call from Ashutosh, who informed me that my suspension has been revoked. It’s a welcome decision. Now, I’ll be able to give undivided attention to my duties,” Khan said.
On being asked whether he still stood by his statement against Vishwas, who is now heading the party’s Rajasthan unit, Khan said: “We should forget what happened in the past and work together for the prosperity of the party. All of us are working for the same goal and Kumar Vishwas is working hard for the party in Rajasthan.” He added that he didn’t wish to get into any other political controversy.
Meanwhile, in a statement to the media, Vishwas said he was not worried about the Rajya Sabha ticket or Amanatullah, adding that he has found himself alone within the party in connection to many national issues.
