Fire breaks out in two fac­to­ries in Narela

Fire in­ci­dents were re­ported from two fac­to­ries in Outer Delhi’s Narela area on Mon­day evening. No one was in­jured in the in­ci­dent.

Ac­cord­ing to fire of­fi­cials, a fire call was re­ceived on Mon­day evening re­gard­ing a fire at a shoe sole mak­ing fac­tory. Ini­tially, 10 fire ten­ders were rushed to the spot. The fire which was in the shoe fac­tory soon spread to the ad­ja­cent plas­tic fac­tory. “A call was re­ceived at 4:24 pm and the fire was doused by 6:30 pm. It took 27 fire ten­ders to douse the fire,” said a fire of­fi­cial.

Po­lice of­fi­cials stated that a pos­si­ble short-cir­cuit might have led to the fire, how­ever, they are await­ing the fi­nal re­port to as­cer­tain what ex­actly led to the fire. Even though there were work­ers in­side the fac­tory none of them sus­tained any in­jury. The fire also dam­aged the ad­ja­cent build­ings and a herd of work­ers rushed out to save them­selves. A mi­nor traf­fic snarl was also re­ported.

Keep­ing the sit­u­a­tion in mind, the fire depart­ment has made spe­cial ar­range­ments as sum­mers usu­ally wit­ness a high num­ber of fire in­ci­dents.

Re­cently, the fire depart­ment bought 60 new fire ten­ders.
