Minor files plaint against mother for deal with rapists
A minor girl who was allegedly gang-raped by two men last year filed a complaint against her mother for striking a deal of Rs 20 lakh with one of the accused who was out on interim bail in order to make sure her daughter changes the statement in the court. The incident was reported from outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area where the victim resided along with her parents.
The mother of the girl was arrested by the police on Sunday whereas her father is absconding.
The victim on April 10 reached the police post in the area stating that her mother was forcing her to change the statement in the court. The girl also told the police that her parents had struck a deal with one of the accused Sunil who was currently out on interim bail met the parents of the girl and offered them Rs 20 lakh to ask their daughter to change the statement. On April 8, Sunil even threatened to kidnap her if she did not change the statement. The following day persons known to Sunil met the parents and handed them around Rs 5 lakh.
The girl’s parents even beat her up as she refused to change her statement. When the parents of the girl returned home, the girl saw them putting the money under the bed. On April 10, as the parents left for the court the girl took the bundles of cash and reached the police post where she informed the officials about the deal between the accused and her parents.
The police registered a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The mother of the girl was arrested but her father managed to flee. The girl was sent to a shelter home after she feared for her life and refused to stay at home. The girl went missing on August 30 last year. Following which her parents filed a complaint with the Aman Vihar police.
