Seven wanted criminals arrested in 2 separate encounters at Noida
Noida: At least seven wanted criminals were arrested by police in two different encounters in Greater Noida on Monday. The police said that a constable of crime branch also sustained bullet injuries in one of the incidents.
According to police, the accused fired at police party when they tried to stop them as they tried to flee after committing the crime. The criminals got injured during retaliatory firing.
In first incident, the police shot at three accused around 1:12 am near Pakshi Vihar colony in the Surajpur area of Greater Noida on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
“We received information on the police control room that three criminals are trying to flee on a motorcycle after committing a robbery at an HDFC bank ATM in village Dewla. A police team was pressed into action and during the chase, the criminals opened gunfire on the police. We fired back in retaliation and the bullet hit two criminals in the leg. However, one of the accomplices managed to flee from the spot taking advantage of the dark” said Pankaj Rai, station house officer, Surajpur police station.
In another encounter, the Bisrakh police arrested five persons after they allegedly fired at the police party at Khairpur roundabout after the crime branch had got secret information about the five people robbing passengers in their car by offering them lift.
