„ Ac­tivists claim that de­spite ris­ing ele­phant ca­su­al­ties in Odisha, of­fi­cials haven’t taken enough mea­sures to pre­vent such in­ci­dents.

„ In last nine years alone, 589 ele­phants have died, of which 205 deaths were un­nat­u­ral.

„ While poach­ing (95) and elec­tro­cu­tion (87) were main rea­sons of these un­nat­u­ral deaths, death on train tracks was the third big­gest cause.
