Heat con­di­tions worsen in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Heat con­di­tions in­ten­si­fied across Odisha to­day with the mer­cury soar­ing above 40 de­gree Cel­sius in at least 10 places in the state. The state cap­i­tal Bhubaneswar turned out to be the hottest place in the state record­ing 41.2 de­gree Cel­sius, the Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Cen­tre here said. As the en­tire west­ern Odisha siz­zled under gru­elling heat, both Balan­gir and Tit­la­garh both recorded max­i­mum tem­per­a­ture of 41 de­gree Cel­sius, fol­lowed by 40.6 de­gree Cel­sius in Jhar­sug­uda, Hi­rakud and Talcher, it said. The mer­cury touched 40.4 de­gree Cel­sius at Chand­bali, while the tem­per­a­ture stood at 40.3 de­gree Cel­sius in An­gul, 40.2 de­gree Cel­sius in Malka­n­giri and 40 de­gree Cel­sius in Sam­balpur.
