PM in Guj to in­au­gu­rate so­lar scheme

Gand­hi­na­gar: Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi will em­bark on a whirl­wind one-day visit to his home state Gu­jarat on Sun­day, where a packed sched­ule awaits him.

The Prime Min­is­ter will launch the coun­try’s first ever co­op­er­a­tive so­ci­ety of farm­ers, un­der the Gu­jarat gov­ern­ment’s SKY scheme, in Anand. The scheme will help farm­ers in­stall so­lar pan­els in their farms and gen­er­ate en­ergy they can use to op­er­ate wa­ter pumps, while the sur­plus power can be sold to a power dis­tri­bu­tion com­pany.

PM Modi will then in­au­gu­rate a choco­late plant of the Gu­jarat Co­op­er­a­tive Milk Mar­ket­ing Fed­er­a­tion (GCMMF), which owns Amul, at Mogar vil­lage in Anand. Other projects un­der the GCMMF, with a to­tal in­vest­ment of Rs 1,120 crore, will also be launched. These in­clude pro­duc­tion of milk pow­der, ghee and but­ter at Bhat vil­lage near Gand­hi­na­gar.
