Domus India 62 Cover Design

The cover design draws inspiration from the structural qualities and visual aesthetics of a corporate building, exemplifying a sense of globality, speed, finesse, urgent economic growth, and a sense of hyper-tech development. These images are often then tied into humbler notions such as sustainability, ‘green architecture’, creating ‘humane work environments’ and so on. The cover takes the global image and transforms it into a landscape — a near-surreal zone of colours and materials, within which one finds the ornaments of nature pasted — birds, fishes, water.

The cover has been designed by Avani Mehta, who started Superstudio on returning to Mumbai from London in 2009. It is a multi-disciplinary graphic design studio, delivering communication design, environmental graphic design, branding and creative consultancy across print, digital, and spatial media.
