The theme of the ven­ti­lated façade has been de­vel­oped by Emilgroup giv­ing rise to the cre­ation of two dif­fer­ent sys­tems: the ven­ti­lated façade and the ven­ti­lated outer layer – put into prac­tice through a part­ner­ship with Isotec. The so­lu­tion of the ven­ti­lated outer layer brings to­gether in a sin­gle so­lu­tion, con­tin­u­ous and ho­mo­ge­neous ex­ter­nal in­su­la­tion and a sup­port­ing struc­ture for the ex­ter­nal cladding that draws from the col­lec­tions of the four Emilgroup brands – Provenza, Er­gon, Emil­ce­ram­ica and Viva –, each of which is able to re­spond, with their own stylis­tic char­ac­ter­is­tics, to the par­tic­u­lar aes­thetic needs put for­ward by the de­signer. To im­prove in­te­rior com­fort of the build­ings, the en­gi­neer­ing depart­ment at Emilgroup have de­vel­oped a sys­tem with a ven­ti­lated air cav­ity that is po­si­tioned be­tween the in­su­lat­ing panel and the façade cladding. This so­lu­tion en­ables high lev­els of per­for­mance to be achieved, fully con­form­ing to en­ergy ef­fi­ciency stan­dards. For the hous­ing de­vel­op­ment in Mi­lan shown here, ce­ramic from the Er­gon range was used. The ‘folded’ sur­face was cho­sen, able to re­pro­duce the cut per­pen­dic­u­lar to the sed­i­men­ta­tion that high­lights the di­rec­tion­al­ity of the stone. The cladding is com­pleted with an ex­ter­nal ven­ti­lated in­su­la­tion sys­tem by Isotec.
