High-altitude worksite

Managing a worksite at more than 3000m entails some inevitable problems, including the weather – much more so than a traditional worksite.

In the case of the Vittorio Veneto al Sasso Nero refuge, designed by Helmut Stifter and Angelika Bachmann and built by Burgerbau, this was resolved by Niederstätter and a Liebherr 65K crane (taken apart lower down and reassembled on top) which allowed for extreme work conditions and millimetric precision for concrete and wood prefabs. The crane made construction possible and the single pieces were even lifted up at night.
