NDA government sets up high-level panel to amend green laws. Do we need to worry?

Down to Earth - - LETTERS - http://www.facebook.com/down2earthindia

India is up for sale to the highest polluters. By the time we wake up from our ignorance it will be too late. What this government is doing will create concrete cities without food, water or clean air.

The government's aim is not to amend but to destroy. Why not formulate a policy on population control instead?

ANIL KAPUR

Since it came to power, this government has made clear its intention of fuelling the unsustainable interests of industry. The move to amend green laws is no surprise. Cleaning the Ganga alone is not going to restore the irreparable damages to the ecosystem resulting from such decisions.

VARAD SHENDE

We need to strike a balance between development and environment. Otherwise no living being will be able to enjoy the fruits of development. In the development debate, we also need to ask "development for whom".
