Kho­barvel tea

Kho­barvel root: about two inches Wa­ter: two cups Tea leaves: a tea­spoon Sugar or jaggery: to taste

METHOD

Wash the root and pound it till the hard in­ner fi­bres are thor­oughly crushed. Add it to wa­ter, bring to boil and al­low to sim­mer for a few min­utes, till the fla­vor gets ab­sorbed by the wa­ter. Add tea leaves and sugar or jaggery.

One can add milk or other spices like ginger or car­damom to the tea.
