Union en­vi­ron­ment min­is­ter Ka­mal Nath al­lows lease of de­graded forests to the pa­per in­dus­try for cap­tive plan­ta­tion. En­su­ing protests led to the re­vok­ing of the de­ci­sion

Andhra Pradesh gives forests that sus­tain tribal com­mu­ni­ties to the Re­liance group of in­dus­tries for plan­ta­tions. Joint For­est Man­age­ment (JFM) in­sti­tu­tions used for im­ple­ment­ing the de­ci­sion. The de­ci­sion was scrapped af­ter protests

2015

Mad­hya Pradesh de­cides to al­low in­vest­ment in de­graded for­est land us­ing the JFM route
