Why Earth?

Down to Earth - - SCIENCE -

WHY IS Earth a habitable place than say celestial neighbours like Venus and Mars? Researchers have found that the early loss of radioactive heat producing elements such as uranium and potassium, when asteroids struck the Earth, could have determined the evolution of Earth's plate tectonics, magnetic field and climate all of which have to work together to create a livable Earth.
