Stress speeds age­ing

ELE­PHANTS BORN un­der stress­ful con­di­tions are likely to age faster and have fewer off­springs. The find is based on data on lives and deaths of over 10,000 ele­phants from Myan­mar span­ning three gen­er­a­tions and al­most a cen­tury. The re­searchers used a hor­mone as­so­ci­ated with stress to find the months rep­re­sent­ing stress­ful con­di­tions for ele­phants. Sci­en­tific Re­ports, Septem­ber 14
