Electrical infection cure

Down to Earth - - SCIENCE BYTES -

RESEARCHERS HAVE discovered how electrical stimulation can treat bacterial infections. They demonstrated how the electrochemical reaction produces hydrogen peroxide, an effective disinfectant, at the electrode surface. The researchers developed an electronic "band aid" made out of conductive carbon fibre. By running electrical current through the fabric, they produced a low and constant concentration of hydrogen peroxide to kill the bugs. Nature Scientific Reports, October 14
