Down to Earth - - COVER STORY -

A N AT U R A L LY occurring food preservative, Nisin, which grows on dairy products, can remove cancer cells. Researchers found that feeding rats a "Nisin milkshake" killed 70-80 per cent of head and neck tumor cells after nine weeks and extended survival. Many foods contain Nisin, but nowhere near the 800 mg/kg needed to kill cancer cells. Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, December 18, 2015 (online)
