India-US solar tiff resolved?

Down to Earth - - ON THE WEB -

Sources say the India-US squabble over domestic content requirement ( DCR) in India's solar mission could end soon.

DCR mandates that solar cells used in Indian power plants should be made locally. The US filed two complaints against India, alleging that DCR discriminates against American exports. In 2015, the World Trade Organization ( WTO) ruled against India. India then filed an appeal. WTO's decision on that has now been delayed, given that a settlement is likely.
