`In­done­sia will go for re­new­able en­ergy'

DownToEarth speaks to Agung Wi­cak­sono, ViceChair­man, Pro­gramme Man­age­ment Of­fice for the 35 GW Elec­tric­ity Project in In­done­sia, which en­vi­sions an ad­di­tional 35 Giga Watt of power for the coun­try. Wi­cak­sono says al­most half of the 35 GW will be gen­er­ated by clean coal on the main is­lands. The smaller isles will pro­duce the rest through re­new­able en­ergy.
