Wise ways to curb resource footprint of a building
Developer must use locally sourced material as much as possible; follow basic guidelines of orientation. Proper orientation ensures that the houses are well-lit and well-ventilated naturally, and helps reduce the building's energy consumption. One can create a second skin with vegetation on the south and west walls to reduce heat ingress. Rainwater harvesting is a must. Keep as much space as possible in the campus breathing and porous. Concrete surface does not help percolation of rainwater.
