This refers to the cover story Out of con­trol 16-31 Au­gust, 2015). I agree that an­i­mals have rights. But in cases such as this one, I be­lieve that hu­man right to life and prop­erty over­rides ev­ery­thing else. Rogue mon­keys, for in­stance, dam­age crops and are a dan­ger to chil­dren. If the govern­ment is not able to keep such mon­keys, or any other wild an­i­mal, away from hu­man habi­tats, it must pay com­pen­sa­tion to the af­fected per­son for any harm caused to them or to their prop­erty at the ear­li­est.
