From April 1 next year, all vehicles manufactured in India will have to furnish details about emission and noise levels as the Union Ministry of Road Transport has amended the Central Motor Vehicles Act. Vivek Chattopadhyay, clean air campaigner from the Centre for Science and Environment tells Down To Earth the move is a good one since India is finally getting more transparent about emissions post the Volkswagen scam. He calls for consumers to be vigilant.
