India lacks skill not technology

Down to Earth - - LETTERS -

This is regarding the story "Burn it all" (1-15 October, 2017). India should follow the example of developed countries where incineration has been successful. In 1982, I saw a mobile incineration plant collect and process solid waste from shops and homes in Nagoya, Japan. The reason India is unable to operate even a stationary plant in the capital city in the 21st century is to do with behaviour and skill, not technology. The point is nothing works when politicians and bureaucrats are involved.
