UST Global has signed a seven-year, $30 mn deal with the Mad­hya Pradesh gov­ern­ment to digi­tise its 377 ur­ban lo­cal bod­ies. As part of the deal, UST Global will help th­ese bod­ies pro­vide fa­cil­i­ties such as elec­tronic bill pay­ments and on­line fil­ing of griev­ances to its cit­i­zens. Over­all, it will sup­port the state’s projects in wa­ter, elec­tric­ity, public health and trans­porta­tion out­lined in the CM’s in­fra­struc­ture devel­op­ment man­i­festo, Vi­sion 2018.

The tele­com com­pany also an­nounced its ‘Im­pact In­dia’ pro­gramme, un­der which it will train and hire 10,000 dif­fer­ently-abled in­di­vid­u­als across the coun­try over three years. This is apart from the 5,000 peo­ple that it plans to hire for ex­pan­sion dur­ing the same pe­riod. Com­ment­ing on the deal with Mad­hya Pradesh, Sa­jan Pil­lai, CEO, UST Global, said, “We are de­lighted to part­ner with the state of MP to build a ro­bust frame­work for good gov­er­nance, ac­cel­er­ated eco­nomic growth, and in­clu­sive so­cial devel­op­ment. This al­liance firmly es­tab­lishes our vi­sion to be a suc­cess­ful busi­ness.”
