In a can­did in­ter­ac­tion with the DQ Chan­nels, Ashok, Geeta Mon­i­tors high­lights Len­ovo’s con­tri­bu­tion in the growth of Geeta Mon­i­tors com­mer­cial business in India

How was the per­for­mance of Geeta Mon­i­tors in the FY 2016? What were your key growth driv­ers dur­ing the fi­nan­cial year?

Ashok: We have had 6% of growth Y-O-Y. For 2017, we have set our tar­gets and work­ing to­wards achiev­ing our goals. Our key growth ar­eas are Stor­age and se­cu­rity, which we are ag­gres­sively fo­cus­ing on. What are your prod­ucts and so­lu­tions of­fer­ings? How does the port­fo­lio con­trib­ute to Shree IT So­lu­tion’s rev­enues?

Ashok: We deal with Servers, Stor­age, Se­cu­rity, Soft­ware and Ser­vices. Apart from this, we also sup­ply reg­u­lar in­fra­struc­ture prod­ucts. We owe 20% of our rev­enue in­crease from Stor­age port­fo­lio and achieved ap­prox 65% of what we did last year. What are the grow­ing seg­ments in your business? Which business ver­ti­cals do you ad­dress?

Ashok: Within our business, the Server and Stor­age seg­ments are grow­ing. We are also fo­cus­ing more on Se­cu­rity seg­ment. We largely cater to SMEs and very few large en­ter­prises. How will you analyse the over­all growth of IT business?

Ashok: Nowa­days, IT business is boom­ing in the Stor­age seg­ment as de­mand for data is grow­ing. The in­dus­try is also look­ing to ex­pand on their Cloud and Server business. We have ex­panded into South Zone and we are also look­ing at govern­ment business. How is your align­ment with Len­ovo?

Ashok: We have a long stand­ing re­la­tion­ship with Len­ovo, since the IBM ac­qui­si­tion days. We are aligned with the en­tire Com­mer­cial por­tion of their of­fer­ing along with some Con­sumer prod­ucts. What are the key trans­for­ma­tions you have ob­served in Len­ovo’s server business strat­egy post IBM’s X86 Server Business ac­qui­si­tion?

Ashok: Len­ovo is a chan­nel friendly com­pany. Lots of changes has hap­pened post the business ac­qui­si­tion. Len­ovo of­fers a com­plete port­fo­lio, which ad­dresses all re­quire­ments. How will you rate Len­ovo’s En­ter­prise Chan­nel pro­gram? How will you dif­fer­en­ti­ate it from the other prom­i­nent ven­dors you are aligned with? What is the scope for im­prove­ment in Len­ovo’s En­ter­prise Chan­nel pol­icy? Ashok: Over­all poli­cies of Len­ovo is great in com­par­i­son to other com­pet­ing brands. Len­ovo has ev­ery­thing in its port­fo­lio and its chan­nel pro­gram is re­ally ben­e­fi­ciary to its part­ners. What are the key thrust ar­eas in the FY17? What are your business strate­gies for ex­pan­sion?

Ashok: We will con­tinue with Stor­age seg­ment as we see an in­crease in the de­mand. We are also look­ing to work on Govern­ment projects es­pe­cially in the South­ern re­gion.
