Alstom T&D clinches three contracts in TN
Alstom T&D India has secured three contracts, valued at around Rs.240 crore from Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Ltd to supply three air-insulated substations, to be delivered to the state of Tamil Nadu to establish a reliable grid.
The three turnkey projects will establish a 400/230/100kV airinsulated substation at Rasipalayam, connecting Tamil Nadu’s transmission network to India’s national grid. It will also establish two 230/110kV air-insulated substations in Vyasarpadi and in Omega Industrial estate, both near Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu. The substations will stabilise power supply in and around Chennai, to cope with increasing industrialisation. Alstom will supply 62 air-insulated bays, two power transformers, eight autotransformers and other equipment for these contracts. Equipment will be supplied from Alstom T&D India’s manufacturing facilities spread across the country.
Bhutan order: In an independent development, Alstom T&D India has been awarded a Rs.55-crore contract by Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority (MHPA) to supply power transformers (4x180 mw) for the 720mw Mangdechhu hydropower project located by the river Mangdechhu in Trongsa district, Bhutan. Alstom T&D India will supply thirteen units of 75 MVA, 400kV generator transformers and an 80 MVAR, 400kV shunt reactor. Alstom will design, engineer, manufacture, supply, transport, erect, test and commission the generator transformer, shunt reactor and associated equipment for the project. All equipment will be supplied from Alstom T&D India’s facility in Naini, Uttar Pradesh.
